Statement of Work (SOW)
Background: The Physician Assistant (P.A.) shall provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members at Madigan Army Medical Center. The P.A. shall independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and military staff as necessary.
Place of Performance: Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington
Period of Performance: 4 Option Years
Schedule: A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 8 (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 07:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Valid DEA Registration.
Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience as a PA in a primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or similar setting.
U.S. Citizen able to pass a background investigation and obtain facility credentialing.
Proficient in written and spoken English and in the use of electronic health records (e.g., MHS GENESIS).
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
Diagnose and manage a range of acute and chronic conditions within their scope of practice.
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions per MAMC protocols.
Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic health record (e.g., MHS GENESIS).
Consult with supervising physicians and refer patients as appropriate.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive health.
Participate in clinical meetings, quality assurance, and mandatory trainings.
Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations.
