Statement of Work (SOW)
Background: The Internal Medicine Physician shall provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members at Madigan Army Medical Center. The Internal Medicine Physician shall independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and military staff as necessary.
Place of Performance: Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington
Period of Performance: 4 Option Years
Schedule: A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 8 (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 07:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week.
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
Valid DEA Registration.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
Must be U.S. Citizen and eligible for credentialing and privileging at MAMC.
Minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical experience in Internal Medicine preferred.
Proficiency in using electronic health records and written/spoken English.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide comprehensive adult medical care in an outpatient or inpatient setting.
Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of chronic and acute internal medicine conditions.
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with DoD and MAMC protocols.
Document all care accurately and timely manner in the electronic health record (e.g., MHS GENESIS).
Collaborate with specialty providers, case managers, and military medical teams.
Participate in peer reviews, clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and required trainings.
