Nurse Practitioner

Madigan Army Medical Center

Statement of Work (SOW) 

Background: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and eligible family members at Madigan Army Medical Center. The NP shall independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of medical conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and military staff as necessary.

Place of Performance: Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, Washington 

Period of Performance: 4 Option Years

Schedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 07:00-16:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as an NP in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

  • National certification from AANP or ANCC in a relevant specialty.

  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).

  • Valid DEA Registration.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing NP services in a primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or similar setting.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background investigation and credentialing process at MAMC.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct patient assessments, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • Prescribe medications in accordance with federal and facility policies.

  • Document all care provided in the electronic health record (e.g., MHS GENESIS).

  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to coordinate care.

  • Educate patients on treatment plans, health promotion, and disease prevention.

  • Participate in quality assurance, compliance reviews, and required trainings.
