Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) Assistant 

BACKGROUND: The Defense Health Agency (DHA) established this requirement to provide medical and administrative support services across the Colorado Military Health System (CMHS) and the 90th Medical Group (MDG) at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. The contract supports the delivery of comprehensive healthcare to active-duty service members, retirees, and their families within multiple Military Treatment Facilities in Colorado and Wyoming. These services ensure continuity of operations, accurate medical documentation, and effective coordination of care in support of DHA’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered healthcare across the Military Health System.

Place of Performance: 10th MDG at US Air Force Academy, CO

Anticipated start date: December 1st, 2025 

Duty Hours: The schedule days and hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, with 8-hour 10-hour shifts between 0700-1700, excluding federal holidays, and are not to exceed more than 40 hours per week. Contractors are permitted one non-billable hour for lunch. The contractor’s work center will assign duty hours as needed for mission success.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Human Services, or a related field

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Medical Evaluation Boards (MEB), Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES), Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), patient administration, or military healthcare support.

  • Experience assembling, reviewing, or managing medical or administrative documentation.

  • Ability to brief and communicate clearly with Service Members, families, providers, and command teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to learn electronic medical record systems (e.g., GENESIS, HAIMS, JLV).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a government background check

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for obtaining, assembling, and forwarding all required documents and records for active duty, AFRC, and ANG, Veteran Affairs Medical Service Coordinator, the local MEB, the IPEB, the FPEB and the IDES stakeholders in accordance with regulatory guidance. 

  • Advises service members and medical staff on PEB findings.

  • When the Service member is incapacitated or incompetent for pay purposes and unable to manage their own legal affairs, the PEBLO provides guidance and assists the legal next-of-kin on the Service member's rights and benefits.

  • Serves as a liaison between the Service members, their respective commanders, and amultidisciplinary team of primary care managers, other appropriate health care professionals, medical care case managers, non-medical case managers (e.g., Recovery Care Coordinators (RCC)), patient administration personnel, and the Office of the Disability.

  • Counsel (ODC), the PEB, and the Military Department Wounded Warrior Program liaison or advocate.

  • Assists in impartial medical views, rebuttals.
